A teacher at College Place Middle School is on administrative leave for what Edmonds School District officials are calling “inappropriate use of a district computer.”
The teacher, whose name was not released, has been on leave since Feb. 8. At The Enterprise deadline, the teacher was still on leave pending further discussions with district officials. District officials said Wednesday that they intended to send a letter Thursday home to parents explaining the incident.
According to officials, a report by a forensic computer specialist hired by the district says the incident didn’t meet criteria for criminal charges.
The state Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction was notified Feb. 8 of the incident and is conducting its own investigation, district officials said. Calls to OSPI were not returned by The Enterprise deadline. Potential penalties by OSPI could include revoking the teacher’s certificate to teach in this state.
