Mountlake Terrace— MILA, Inc., the wholesale mortgage banking company, was named Customer Service Business of the Year in the large Business Category by the Better Business Bureau of Western Washington.
MILA was one of hundreds of area organizations that applied for this award.
“MILA is pleased to accept this prestigious award,” said Layne Sapp, MILA CEO. “Our goal is not to simply meet customer expectations, but to anticipate and exceed the needs of our customers on an ongoing basis.”
MILA was a winner in this category by providing “an outstanding commitment to exceptional customer service standards,” a press release stated. With MILA, brokers are given the control they need to expedite the loan process, eliminate unwanted surprises and grow their business. MILA provides this integrated customer experience through two departments, the underwriting helpdesk technicians and relationship managers.
MILA’s Underwriting Helpdesk is designed to assist brokers via phone or e-mail with changes to their loans prior to shipping or electronically delivering the file to MILA. This is a unique feature in the mortgage industry, and MILA is the only lender that can provide this service, according to a press release from the company. Another way MILA connects brokers and borrowers is that after a loan submission is received, MILA’s relationship manager steps in as the single point of contact for each loan to facilitate the communication process through loan closing.
Companies are chosen in small and large business categories as well as specific awards in the areas of customer service, community involvement and innovative business practices. Each company submitted a written essay and participated in an interview with the judging committee. These two components were used to determine the 21 finalists and the winners.
“The Business of the Year Awards is designed to honor businesses like MILA,” said Robert W.G. Andrew, CEO and President of the Better Business Bureau, “the dedication to clients, employees and the community they serve is admired.”
