Three teams from Mill Creek Little League took first place in their Washington District 1 tournaments and are headed into their respective state tournaments.
The Majors baseball team (11-12 year-olds) went 6-1 in the district tournament and defeated Marysville National in consecutive championship games to claim the title. Mill Creek averaged nearly 10 runs per game, powered by nine home runs over the course of the tournament. The defense turned four double plays. The state tournament starts July 23 at Windjammer Park in Oak Harbor.
Mill Creek’s Majors softball team, also 11-12 year-olds, powered its way through the district tournament to a 5-0 record. The girls outscored their opponents 70-7.
Mill Creek’s 9- and 10-year-old all-stars also went 5-0 record in their District 1 tournament. The team averaged 11 runs per game on offense, while allowing only five runs in five games, three of which were shutouts.
The 11- and 12-year-old all-stars are Sam Brown, Stephen Carratt, Sean Clark, Anthony Flatt, Drew Hatland, Colby Johansen, Andrew Lambert, Eric Lawson, Alec McDade, Keenan Miller, Nick Pribble, Kaden Sleister and Justin Yamamoto. The manager is Rob Brown. Coaches are Bruce Lawson and Jeff Johansen
The 9- and 10-year-old all-stars are Duncan Bartok, Alek Baumgartner, Daniel Jang, Alex Jondal, Dan Kingma, Alec Kisena, Derrick Mahlum, Jake Miles, Blake Ozuna, Collin Porter, Jess Robbins, Joakim Soderqvist and Jason Todd. The manager is Scott Mahlum. Coaches are Paul Porter and Jim Robbins.
The 11- and 12-year-old all-stars are Liz Aagard, Erin Bueser, Megan Cooley, Dewey Davis, Kelsi Mason, Maddy Mertens, Jessica Mirante, Bonnie Muscat, Lindsay Robison, Lauren Stewart, Matti Tetzlaff, Chandra Tewari and KC Wilson. The manager is Gil Ayala. Coaches are Kori Robison and John Mirante.
