EDMONDS — Shorewood freshman Doug Misner’s latest personal record earned him a Western Conference 4A South Division title.

Misner cleared 6 feet, 4 inches in the high jump on his first attempt to lock up first place at last week’s league championships at Edmonds Stadium.

“His progress has been great,” Shorewood coach Cecil Jackson said. “It seems like the last three meets he’s had (personal records). It’s been great timing for him.”

Shorecrest senior Lars Teigen cleared 6-4 on his second try and finished second.

Running in just his third meet of the season due to a torn quad, senior Anthony Miranda placed fourth in the 100-meter dash and anchored Shorewood’s 400 relay to a second-place finish.

Shorewood’s Philip Ng and Andrew Dustan took fourth and fifth in the 300 hurdles in career-best times and Dustan placed fourth in the 100 hurdles.

Zach McCallister took fifth in the 200 and Chris Goiney finished fourth in the 1,600 and seventh in the 800, one spot ahead of teammate Rob Osborne.

Jeff Tegman and Tyler Dobbs both cleared 12-6 in the pole vault and placed second and fifth for the T-birds.

Shorecrest’s Shane Hoffman placed second in the long jump and fourth in the triple jump. Chiedo Acholonu took fifth in the triple jump and Michael Dapper placed third in the 200 and fifth in the 100.

Jackson collected 161 points to hold off Everett (157.5) for the team championship. Shorewood placed fifth and Shorecrest was eighth.
