The Edmonds Arts Commission’s Concert in the Park series presents a free concert in the park performed by the all-woman big band, The Mood Swings, on Sunday, Aug. 3 in Edmonds City Park.
The Mood Swings is a group of musically-minded women from Seattle. They have an exciting big band sound with 15 full time members – five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets, bass, drums, piano, and vocalists. While much of their current repertoire is jazz and Latin, they enjoy and play many different genres. They describe their musical recipe as “two cups Sammy Nestico, one and a half cups Duke Ellington, one cup Gershwin, one cup Latin Spice, two tablespoons Funk, a pinch of attitude, blended all together.”
Concerts are presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission on behalf of the Edmonds City Council and are accessible to persons with disabilities.
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket; in the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled.
The next Concert in the Park is Aug. 12 and features On World Taiko, Japanese Drumming.
