Glass mosaics by Jo Braun and color photography by Corrina Miller are paired at the Lynnwood Library Gallery now through Jan. 3, 2007. The two very different mediums compliment each other as they come together in a vibrant blend of colors, imagery and detail.
Originally from South Dakota, it was Jo Braun’s love for the prairie landscape that first inspired her to become an artist. Jo uses man-made materials such as glass and cement to create mosaics that replicate the beautiful patterns formed by repetition in nature. Whether be a vast field of polka dot haystacks or a fresh northwest spring, Jo Braun’s mosaics elegantly infuse the environment indoors with the natural world outdoors.
Corrina Miller’s photography reveal the richness of color and beauty of details found everywhere around us. Street scenes, natural landscapes and intimate portraits frequent her subject matter, as they frequent her life. “My creativity and commitment for photography are fueled by the magic of watching an image captured through my camera lens emerge onto a palpable piece of paper,” Miller said.
