Mosiman topples two meet records

King’s athletes set nine meet records and the Knights easily swept the team titles at last week’s Chinook League track championships at Woolsey Stadium.

Sophomore Sara Mosiman established records of 130-feet, 2 inches in the javelin and 16-11 in the long jump, matched the meet record of 5 feet in the high jump and cleared 8 feet to win the pole vault.

Kim Mayhle, Chira Louie, Tatiana Noel and Sarah Smart set a record with their winning time of 51.28 seconds in the 400-meter relay and Natalie Madrazo, Louie, Noel and Mayhle clocked a record time of 1:49.21 in the 800 relay.

Breyanne Nordtvedt set a meet record in the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 3 inches. She also placed second in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles.

Louie finished second in the 100-meter dash and third in the long jump.

On the boys side, Robb Waldburger set a meet record of 12-6 in the pole vault, Michael Davis launched the javelin a record 185-7 and Calvin Fujii set a shot put record with his toss of 50-6 1/4.

Steven Miller won the 3,200 in 10:04.28, took second in the 1,600 and third in the 800. Fujii was second in the discus and third in the javelin.

King’s coasted to the girls championship at the six-team meet with 214.5 points, followed by Bellevue Christian (137) and Seattle Christian (86).

The King’s boys matched the girls with 214.5 points to pull away from Tacoma Baptist (145) and Seattle Christian (79).
