Mill Creek residents are invited to participate in a contest to name the city’s newest park. The 1 1/2-acre park, which is currently under construction, is located in the Vineyards subdivision just west of Mill Creek Boulevard, south of the Holly subdivision and north of the Magnolia subdivision. The City Council would like to select a name for the park before it is completed and officially dedicated later this year.

Name guidelines are: neighborhood, geographic or common usage identification; natural or geological features; a historical figure, place, event, or other instance of historical or cultural significance; an individual (living or deceased) or business who has made a significant land and/or monetary contribution to the park system.

City Council Member John Hudgins has offered a $50 prize to the person who submits the winning name. If more than one person submits the name ultimately chosen by the City Council, the first person who submitted it will be considered the winner.

Deadline for submitting names is Oct. 31. Submit your suggestion online or mail it to: City of Mill Creek, 15728 Main St., Mill Creek, Wash. 98012. For information, call Sherrie Ringstad at 425-921-5717.
