The Gallery at Towne Centre’s first exhibit, “Nature’s Collective,” features artists Elizabeth Halfacre, Deb Casso and Mona Smiley-Fairbanks.

Halfacre works in mixed media collage, printmaking and illustration. Her collage process is one of discovery: constructing and deconstructing, layering and removing to see what new surface she can reveal. Halfacre includes elements from personal experience, the urban environment, popular culture and primitive art.

Deb Casso is a nature and landscape photographer. Her work includes landscapes, seascapes, flora and macro photography at Cape Cod and in the Pacific Northwest. For Casso, photography is an exercise in slowing down, observing and reflecting. She strives to create images that show the uniqueness and vast natural beauty of the world.

Mona Smiley-Fairbanks is a graphic designer turned fine artist, as well as a mother and an art teacher in the Shoreline School District. She works primarily in monotype printmaking, incorporating a non traditional variety of construction elements such as wood, fiber, resin and metal. Her art is centered on nature and science, pulling from family history to link the past with the future.
