The Snohomish County Christian School baseball team has a different look this season.
And it isn’t entirely due to the influx of new players.
The Lions head into the season with a new head coach but one who was already familiar with the team.
John Campbell, an assistant coach for the last two seasons, recently was promoted to head coach.
While the Lions return several standouts from a year ago, what’s impressed Campbell are the five new members of the team.
“They’re looking pretty good,” he said. “The guys are picking stuff up rather quickly and are working really hard.”
Among the Lion returners are senior pitcher/first baseman Jordan Doucet, senior centerfielder/infielder Dan Hunter, senior second baseman Jason Christopherson and sophomore shortstop/pitcher Josh Schettler.
Campbell’s major goal is to bring a more disciplined approach to the game and he expects the Lions to be a factor in the Northwest B League race.
“These guys have a really good attitude about wanting to win and working hard to do it,” Campbell said.
