UW Bothell recently celebrated the Fall 2008 launch of its Master of Arts in Cultural Studies Program (MACS) at a Nov. 12 ceremony with guest lecturer Toby Miller at the North Creek Events Center. The MACS Program is the first graduate program in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the few programs nationally, to partner the interdisciplinary study of art and culture with a community-based learning network. This fall, MACS welcomed 18 students, with research interests as varied as indigenous philosophy to consumerism to improvisational theatre. The program is currently accepting applications for its 2009 cohort.
