The city of Mill Creek and the union representing the city’s patrol officers did not come to terms on a new labor agreement during a mediation session on Friday, Feb. 11, interim city manager Mike Caldwell said.

Friday’s session, which featured a state mediator, was the second one between the two parties. A third meeting is planned within the next few weeks, Caldwell said, but a date was not set as of earlier this week.

Caldwell said that he remains optimistic a deal will be reached “soon.”

City officials cannot talk specifics about what the negotiations or what kind of issues are being discussed.
