An open house will be held to present draft initial 2025 population and employment target ranges for cities, Urban Growth Areas and the rural/resource area of Snohomish County.

It will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22 at the Everett Station, 3201 Smith Ave. in Everett, prior to the Snohomish County Tomorrow (SCT) Steering Committee meeting.

These population and employment targets will guide the next round of local Growth Management Act (GMA) plan updates over the next two years. Under the requirements of the GMA, jurisdictions in Snohomish County are required to plan for growth over a 20-year time span.

The cities and the county are now reviewing the target ranges and will report their preliminary preference for 2025 growth targets by April 1, 2003 for review through the Snohomish County Tomorrow process. The targets will eventually be adopted by Snohomish County into the Countywide Planning Policies.

Public comments on the draft initial growth targets are encouraged. Comments may be submitted to individual cities, the county or through the SCT process.

The cities and the county work to resolve growth issues through the SCT process.
