Seattle chef Jim Kuhn is cooking up an extra-large batch of traditional Spanish paella June 6 at Everett Community College’s paella feast and celebration of Spanish culture.
Kuhn will prepare paella for 150 guests with a mixture of chicken, chorizo, seafood, vegetables and golden saffron rice. Lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. at EvCC’s Parks Student Union Plaza, located at 2000 Tower St.
The cost is $10 for the general public and $7 for students and senior citizens.
Lunch includes paella, salad, bread and a beverage.
Lunchtime entertainment will be provided by Carmona Flamenco, which specializes in contemporary and traditional flamenco song, dance and guitar. The Seville-trained Carmonas have performed throughout Spain as well as in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. Currently based in Seattle, Carmona Flamenco has become one of the Pacific Northwest’s premiere performance and teaching groups.
