Artwork by Ukrainian painter Oleksiy Kovalenko and local pottery artist Wayne Kilburn is now on display through Feb. 8 at the Lynnwood Library Gallery.

Kovalenko has exhibited widely in both the Ukraine and the United States and has work in private collections around the world. His oil paintings are beautiful and mysterious, often depicting scenes of the countryside and old towns throughout his native country of Ukraine.

Everett artist Wayne Kilburn uses natural elements of the Pacific Northwest as inspiration for his primitive pottery. Kilburn’s fired clay pots incorporate materials such as sand, soil and cedar. Each pot is a unique creation receiving its distinctive coloring from the heat, smoke and flames of a bonfire.

Free to the public, the Lynnwood Library Gallery showcases local and regional artists on both the amateur and professional level.
