Pawlak, City upend State 108-94

King’s High graduate Ben Pawlak scored seven points to help the City to a 108-94 win over the State in the Class 1A WIBCA all-state boys basketball game July 12 at Highline Community College.

City increased its six-point halftime lead to 20 in the second half. Freeman’s Patrick Love led all scorers with 23 points and Bellevue Christian’s Daniel Downs and John Baranowski combined for 32.

Meadowdale grad Tyler Milam contributed 10 points in the State’s 117-11 win over the City in the Class 3A game.

Lynnwood’s Drew Matzen scored 11 for the City, which cut its deficit to three with three minutes to go but couldn’t get any closer.
