People Watching: New executive vice president at Mountain Pacific Bank

Mountain Pacific Bank has promoted chief credit officer Kirby Duncan to executive vice president. Duncan joined Mountain Pacific Bank in 2008 as a senior lender. His role expanded to include management of special credits, credit administration and disposition of bank owned properties. Duncan was promoted to senior vice president and chief credit officer in March 2013.

Bothell’s HaloSource has hired Greg LaFata as the company’s new senior marketing manager for its SeaKlear brand. LaFata will be responsible for introducing new products for the company as well as implementing new strategies to increase consumer brand awareness for SeaKlear products. Previous companies he has worked for include Procter and Gamble and Philips.

Long standing community supporter and owner of Harvey Field Kandace Harvey has been chosen as the grand marshal of the Kla Ha Ya Days parade at 10:30 a.m. on July 19. Harvey Field has hosted Kla Ha Ya Days activities for many years and Harvey has been a dedicated supporter and volunteer for many local organizations.

Karen Schweinfurth, a real estate broker based in Everett, was elected next president of the Washington Association of Realtors at the Association’s spring conference. She will serve in 2016. Schweinfurth is a member of the Snohomish County-Camano Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She was named the Washington State Realtor of the Year in 2013.

Group Health announced that it has hired Chris Knackstedt as chief financial officer. Knackstedt was previously CFO at several of the nation’s top 10 integrated health systems including MultiCare Health System in Tacoma. He brings a broad base of financial leadership to the nonprofit health care organization. The native Midwesterner is a certified public accountant.
