Potbelly pigs are set to go “hog wild” in Lynnwood July 19 as the Lynnwood Arts Commission Wonderstage Performance Series for Kids presents Valentine’s Performing Pigs.
Steve and Priscilla Valentine have been raising and training potbelly pigs for more than 20 years. Nellie, “the world’s smartest pig” and star of the show, is joined by Wilbur, The Duchess of Pork and several other younger siblings on stage. Together they dunk basketballs, jump through hoops and even skateboard. The couple’s pigs are veteran performers who perform a variety of tricks and athletic feats, but the Gig Harbor residents also view their porcine charges as family.
The pigs have taken their show on the road all over the country, from state fairs and Microsoft, to television programs including David Letterman, The Today Show and Good Morning America.
Wonderstage performances are suitable for 5-11 year olds and their families. In case of rain, the performance is moved indoors to Lynndale Elementary School Gym, located at 7200 191st St. SW in Lynnwood. WonderStage is sponsored by the Lynnwood Arts Commission, City of Lynnwood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, Target and through a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission.
