Seattle area playwright Dave Tucker’s new comedy, “Spontaneous Combustion,” will be unveiled as part of The Driftwood Players’ PlayCafé performance series on Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25.

The award winning author of last year’s “Othello Undercover” returns with a new theatrical proposition that asks, what if the angel of death made a mistake? With 6.4 billion people in the world to keep track of, Tucker’s “Spontaneous Combustion” speculates that a slipup is bound to occur occasionally.

Through the ongoing PlayCafé series, theatergoers have the opportunity to experience new works performed by The Driftwood Players as book-in-hand readings. In conjunction with Café on the Terrace, the reading is presented as a dinner event — a special three-course meal served with a new play.

“Spontaneous Combustion” performs at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25 at Café on the Terrace, located at 22826 56th Avenue W. in Mountlake Terrace. Reservations are required. More information on tickets and show times is available by calling 425-712-9112.
