The following is a selection of police incidents which occurred in the past week in the cities of Lynnwood and/or Mountlake Terrace.

June 7

Disorderly conduct. 5100 block of 222nd St. SW. An officer contacted a man who was lighting fireworks in his front yard. The officer warned the man that it was illegal to do this and the man ignored the officer and became very belligerent. Others officers responded, and the man, who stank of alcohol, started to verbally assault his neighbor and the other officers. The man ended up being cuffed and placed into custody for disorderly conduct.

Weapons violation. Northbound Interstate 5 and 236th St. SW. An officer contacted a woman who was stopped on the side of the freeway. The woman started quickly puffing on a cigar and the officer asked if she was OK. She said she just pulled over so her car would run right. Since a cigar is used at times to cover up other smells, the officer asked if he could search her vehicle and she agreed. The officer found two sets of brass knuckles and gave the woman a warning for possession of dangerous weapons. Then the officer followed the woman off the freeway to be sure her car wouldn’t break down.

Theft from a building. 5300 block of 228th St. SW. An employee of the recreation pavilion reported unknown persons pried into two lockers in the locker room. The thieves stole a prescription medication, some cash and clothes.
