Jan. 23
DUI, Reckless driving. 22800 block of 44th Ave W. Police stopped a 26-year-old Des Moines man’s Saab after they noticed he was driving the car erratically and speeding. Once they made contact with him, they noticed he smelled of liquor. That led to a citation for DUI and reckless driving — and a trip to jail.
Residential burglary. 23000 block 50th Ave. W. A 22 year-old Mountlake Terrace man said he came home at 8:30 p.m. to find someone had stolen two tool boxes and an air compressor, with a combined value of $1,500, from his back porch.
Jan. 21
Accident. 3500 block of 214th St. SW. A Brier girl driving a Honda Passport lost control of her vehicle on an icy patch, slid of the road and down an embankment. Medics drove her to the hospital.
Jan. 18
Smash-and-grab. 21000 52nd Ave. W., 6 p.m. A Mountlake Terrace woman said she came home to find that someone had broken into her car and stolen a compact disc deck.
DUI. 44th and 236th St. SW. Police arrested a 39-year-old Yakima man for DUI after he lost control of his pickup truck and struck a minivan with two people on board. Neither of the minivan’s occupants was injured seriously. The suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
Jan. 15
Attempted burglary. 23000 56th Ave. W., 10:42 p.m. An employee with a veterinary clinic said someone apparently tried to break into an outside storage shed.
