The driver of a stolen vehicle out of California led Lake Forest Park police on a high speed car chase that turned into a foot pursuit Dec. 29.

Police driving along the 18400 block of Ballinger Way conducted a routine license plate check which showed the vehicle they were following was stolen and the driver was a fugitive out of California. Police turned on their lights to pull the driver over, and he fled.

Two Lake Forest Park police patrols pursued the car, and the suspect stopped the vehicle and started running on foot. One officer tackled him and put him in handcuffs. He was booked into the King County jail.
