Police see spike in reports of domestic violence incidents

An unusually high volume of calls over domestic incidents was received by the police the past several weeks. Eleven incidents were reported between April 27 and May 6. A sample of the complaints follows.

On April 27 a man was booked into Snohomish County jail for harassing his girlfriend and preventing her from calling 911.

Responding to a verbal argument between a man and woman on April 28, police found the man had three warrants and turned him over to Seattle police.

On April 29 police responded to a report of a male assaulting his estranged girlfriend. Also on that day a man was booked into Snohomish County jail when he repeatedly left and returned to his girlfriend’s premises after shattering a picture frame above her head and cutting his fingers.
