Power pole gives way along 196th Street SW

Lynnwood police closed 196th Street Southwest from 50th Street Southwest nearly to Highway 99 much of Wednesday, July 9 as Snohomish County Public Utility District crews fixed a utility pole that fell onto power lines in front of the Glen Haven, a collection of shops and offices next to Wight’s Home and Garden, shortly before 8 a.m. Neil Neroutsos, PUD spokesman, said a gui wire that holds the utility poles in place broke loose, causing two poles to collapse. The incident disrupted power to about 25 customers, he said.
