Funding for local transportation projects will be included in a transportation bill due to be voted on soon by the House of Representatives, according to U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Bainbridge.

The projects are part of the Transportation Equity Act, which was passed by the House Committee on Transportation March 24 and will reauthorize federal transportation spending for six years.

The funding includes:

• $3 million for the UW-Bothell/Cascadia interchange. This project will provide access to the university and community college campus. The new south access will improve the link between I-405, Highway 522 and the campus, alleviate congestion at the north campus access on Beardslee Boulevard.

• $2 million for the Interurban Trail in Shoreline to help complete the trail, a bike and pedestrian corridor. The trail also creates a pedestrian bridge crossing of Aurora Avenue N. and continues regional trail improvements that, when completed, will run from Seattle to Everett.

• $1.5 million for widening Highway 527 in Bothell-Mill Creek.

• $1 million for congestion relief on I-405.

• $500,000 for an exit ramp at Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood.

• $3 million for Community Transit’s Snohomish County park and ride expansion program.
