A high-level manager in the civil division of the Snohomish County’s prosecutor’s office will start work in February as a senior policy adviser to county Executive Aaron Reardon.

Thomas Fitzpatrick will take over as executive director in Reardon’s office at an annual salary of about $123,000. He will oversee the county’s planning and development department, Paine Field and economic development issues.

He’ll also represent the county during the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure process, the federal effort to close military bases.

He replaces Paul Roberts, who left to become public works director for the city of Marysville.
