Residents and small business owners who suffered property damages or losses from the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides that began Dec. 3, can register for federal and state disaster assistance, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The deadline for filing a disaster assistance application with FEMA is February 7.
Residents and small business owners are encouraged to complete an application in conjunction with a report to their homeowner’s insurance. FEMA may be able to assist with unmet needs with an award letter from the insurance company.
FEMA has also set up a debris management hotline. The toll free number is 1-866-751-3992. This hotline is manned during office hours and a message machine is available for after hours inquiries. They will return calls left on the message machine the next day.
