Discover “The Fascinating World of Reptiles” with Reptile Man Scott Petersen in an entertaining and educational show July 26 at the Lynndale Park Amphitheater in Lynnwood.

Petersen, known as the Reptile Man, is joined by 15 live reptiles from around the world. The program will create an interest in the natural sciences and teach students about the importance of all animals in the balance of nature.

The zoologist and educator has been featured on PBS’s “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” on MTV’s “Road Rules,” in “Ranger Rick” magazine, on KING-5’s “Watch This” and on KOMO-TV’s “Northwest Afternoon,” as well as at elementary schools throughout Snohomish County.

Petersen also has the largest collection of reptiles in the Northwest, housing ten of the world’s deadliest snakes (surgically devenomized) at the Washington Serpentarium just east of Monroe. Open to the public, the Serpentarium is home to reptiles including an alligator snapping turtle and a rare albino alligator.

This free, one hour performance is suitable for 5-11 year olds and their families. The Lynnwood Arts Commission presents this WonderStage event, sponsored by the City of Lynnwood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department, Target and by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission.
