Recent visitors to Mill Creek City Hall will notice the torn up cul-de-sac and parking lots around the building.
Scott Smith, assistant city engineer and project manager for the Main Street Connection Project, said the project is in its beginning stages and should be completed by Sept. 14.
Once completed, the cul-de-sac in front of City Hall will be a through road.
“We basically are providing a new roadway connection to the town center,” Smith said.
In addition to the Main Street Connection Project, the city has also started its 2004 Overlay Program.
Wilder Construction, the project’s consultant, has begun preparation work, with actual paving starting the week of Aug. 11. Village Green Drive, Country Club Drive and parts of the Fairway Division will see the main paving work.
Public Works Director Doug Jacobson said city officials are working to get approval for projects to put to bid in September.
He said some projects under consideration are improvements to Cougar Park and widening of Dumas Road.
