Nothing has changed in the hierarchy of the Mill Creek City Council.

The Council re-elected members Terry Ryan as mayor and Donna Michelson as mayor pro-tem during a special meeting Tuesday, Jan. 6. Both will serve for the next two years.

Nominations came from within the Council. In addition to Ryan, Council members John Hudgins and Mary Kay Voss were also nominated and seconded for the mayor’s position. Voss was also nominated for mayor pro-tem.

Ryan has already served as mayor for the last four years and Michelson served as mayor pro-tem for the last two years. The positions are largely ceremonial, with the mayor presiding over Council meetings and the mayor pro-tem doing so in the mayor’s absence.

In addition, Mark Bond was sworn in to the Council, and Dale Hensley and John “Jack” Start were sworn in for new terms. Bond was unopposed in his first bid for a Council seat, and Hensley and Start were re-elected in November.
