Suspect sought in indecent exposure
Mountlake Terrace Police responded to a report of an indecent exposure June 6 at Mountlake Terrace High School, 21801 44th Ave. W.
The 16-year-old victim reported she was walking to the school around 11:35 a.m. when she noticed a man sitting on the bleachers.
As the victim got closer, the man got up and walked past her. As they passed each other, the victim said the man’s pants were unzipped and he was exposing himself.
The suspect was described as a white male, 30-35 years old, with short black spiky hair, a black stubble beard, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.
Police are asking witnesses or those with information to contact the Police Department at 425-670-8260.
Sex offender arrested after failing to register
Mountlake Terrace Police on June 5 arrested a sex offender who had a $75,000 arrest warrant from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender.
A woman at the home in the 24200 block of 57th Avenue W said she had not seen the suspect for some time. While checking the interior of the home, officers found male clothing and pornography in one of the bedrooms.
Later that evening, neighbors called and reported seeing the suspect. When officers came to the home, the suspect fled on foot in an attempt to avoid arrest. He was later caught with the help of an Edmonds police dog.
Firefighters rescue woman after fall
Fire District 1 firefighters rescued a woman who fell 75 feet down a steep embankment in Edmonds on June 6.
The 82-year-old woman was uninjured, except for a few scratches. She told firefighters she was walking in the 9100 block of 196th Street SW when she slipped and rolled down the steep, brush-covered slope above Puget Drive.
The firefighters secured the woman to a rope line using a harness to prevent her from slipping farther down the hill. With the rope and assistance from the firefighter, the woman was able to climb to the top of the hill on her own.
EDMONDS
June 8: Felony arrest. 10500 block Alan A Dale Place. A 31-year-old Brier man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail after a routine license plate check revealed he was wanted on a burglary warrant. An Edmonds police officer spotted the man working on a vehicle, decided to run the plate and found an outstanding warrant for the owner. The man working on the vehicle matched the description of the suspect.
LYNNWOOD
June 5: Commercial burglary. 19700 block 44th Avenue W. The manager of a children’s bookstore came to work in the morning and discovered that about $400 was missing from the safe drawer. The manager said the door lock didn’t work properly.
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE
June 11: Domestic violence, no assault. 21400 block 48th Ave. W. Two brothers began fighting after one accused the other of calling him names when they walked past each other. Their mother said her son has a history of meth use and might be using again because of his paranoid behavior.
June 10: Verbal domestic. 4700 block 225th Place SW. A woman said her boyfriend left their house intoxicated and angry. She said he pushed her out of the way when she tried to block the doorway. Officers noted the woman smelled of alcohol.
June 9: Theft. 23300 block 66th Ave. W. A man reported the theft of a Frisbee golf basket from the disc golf course at Terrace Creek Park. The basket was valued at $400. Someone would have had to use a pair of bolt cutters to cut off the padlock to remove the metal basket.
June 8: Suspicious person. I-5 Northbound off ramp at 220th Street SW. A man was seen barking at people and being disruptive. Police have contacted him a number of times in the past for holding a “homeless” sign at the I-5 offramps on 220th Street SW. He is not homeless. This time he was waving signs saying he would work for money and that’s he was cold, hungry and in need of help. Officers told him he can’t display misleading signs.
