SCC Foundation recognizes many local students

The Shoreline Community College Foundation hosted a spring scholarship celebration May 31 that recognized outstanding area students. The program honored about 57 high school and college students. A total of $30,900 was distributed through the Foundation and private donors.

The Shoreline Community College Foundation &Shoreline Breakfast Rotary Bowling for Brains High School Scholars are Shorecrest’s Judy Baker and Uy Tu and Shorewood’s Kayla Blair, Ashley Webster, Emily Wegeleben and Kamillia Mae Wright.

Shoreline Community College High School Merit Scholars are Shorecrest’s Uy Tu and Jennifer Waddingham.

Lilian Bramlett, Monica Di Meo and Linda Parker received the Shoreline Community College Continuing Student Scholarships, and Monica Di Meo and Amber Wolfe were named the Shoreline Community College Merit Scholars.

The Boeing Scholars are Miguel Guzman, Anthony Simon and Kenny Yi. Matthew Metzger received the Corvette Marque Scholarship.

Kathleen Speer was named the Elizabeth Thomas Alumni Scholar. The Friends of Mary Scholar is Rebecca Evans, and the Emerald City Council of Beta Sigma Phil Scholars are Michelle Boyles and Misti Tucker.

Jason Fent and Shawn Weeks were named the GM ASEP Scholars. The International Programs Study Abroad Scholars are Chaim Eliyah, Christine Hebert, Lori Mandell, Lauren Pedersen and Chandra Wright.

Ashley Sheridan received the Ivan Braga Memorial Scholarship. The Joan Heeter Memorial Scholarships went to Christy Scholtes and Michelle Reesh. Kevin Hergert received the Joseph Schultz Memorial Scholarship, and Jennette Cavalier is the Nell F. Brown Scholar.

Norton Family Scholars include Robert Allred, Jared Alseth, William Clark, Matthew Fugier, Kevin Hergert, Jeffery McDonald, Josh Middleton, Tobias Polka, Matthew Rich, Joe Tuininga, Roberto Vazquez and Robert Wood.

The Professor Emeritus Bill Johnson Scholars are Tracy Landboe and Rachel Vander Giessen. Marcia Cote received the Margaret Mallett Scholarship, and Linda Lyons and Dianna Call are the Margaret Svec Scholars.

The Toyota T-TEN Scholars are Sung Cho, Zach Foutch, Jack French, Kevin Hergert and Tobias Polka. Miguel Guzman received the Viva Hispanic Foundation NW Scholar award.
