Running Start Information Night will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Triton Union Building 202, Edmonds Community College. Students and parents can get their questions answered about how eligible high school juniors and seniors may attend college level classes, tuition-free, while they complete high school graduation requirements.

Superintendent’s Roundtable Feb. 7
A Superintendent’s Roundtable on “Curriculum Adoption: Improving Math, Science, and Literacy” will be from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Educational Services Center, 20420 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Superintendent Nick Brossoit will lead an informal conversation and an open-agenda period where any questions, comments or concerns can be brought forward.

N. Sound open house set for both campuses
The North Sound Christian School’s Elementary school will host an open house and registration from 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the school. The Junior/Senior High School campus open house will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the school.
North Sound Elementary is at 17931 64th Ave. W., Lynnwood. North Sound Christian Junior/Senior High is at 23607 54th Avenue W., Mountlake Terrace.
Families can learn about campuses, programs, teachers, sports, music and more.

Center for Families open house at EdCC
The Center for Families Cooperative Preschool will host an open house from 11-12:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the school, located on the Edmonds Community College campus, 20400 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.

Students can apply for EdCC scholarships
Current or future students at EdCC are invited to apply for a 2007-08 Edmonds Community College Foundation Scholarship online at http://foundation.edcc.edu.
Applications are accepted until 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 9. Students may qualify for a scholarship based on financial need, academic success or course of study.
Scholarships are available to full or part-time students. Students can qualify for and receive funds from multiple scholarships, but complete just one application. Awards range from $200 to $2,000. Call 425-640-1274 or send e-mail to foundation@edcc.edu.
N. Sound students of quarter announced
North Sound Christian has announced its students of the quarter.
• Seventh-grader Gregory Buzitis has a GPA of 3.67, is in the Royal Rangers club and volunteers at “Operation Nightwatch,” providing dinner for a homeless shelter. He plays basketball and soccer.
• Crista Greenwood is eighth grade class president and plays guitar on the Word of Truth Christian Center worship team. She is currently working on a project to provide clothing to orphans in Kumasi, Ghana. She traveled to Nigeria in May as part of a mission team.
• Elisabeth Tissell, a ninth-grader, has a GPA of 4.0, is on Student Council and was eighth and ninth grade class secretary. She has been on the Honor Roll, won the Citizenship Award, the President’s Education Award, Queen Esther Award, the Perfect Attendance award (eight times) and the Gold Certificate for Bible memorization.
She has volunteered as a youth leader at University Presbyterian Church and plays volleyball. She won the Most Inspirational Player award for 2005-06.
