Forum on state education report

A forum on Washington Learns takes place from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at Shoreline Center Auditorium, 18560 First Ave. NE in Shoreline.

The 60-page report addresses public education from early childhood through college and calls for a new funding structure.

State representatives Ruth Kagi and Maralyn Chase and state senator Darlene Fairley will answer questions, hear ideas and concerns about the proposal.

AMHS band to appear in concert

A holiday winter concert performed by the Lynnwood Community Band and the Archbishop Murphy High School Band will be held at 7 p.m. today, Friday Dec. 1 at Edmonds Church of God, 8224 220th St. SW, Edmonds.

The groups will perform holiday music separately and combined, with traditional, jazz and Dr. Seuss stylings.

Admission is free, but food bank donations will be accepted.
