SPU students volunteer locally
Freshmen and transfer students at Seattle Pacific University spent their first day of school in Shoreline and other local cities, fixing up houses, organizing food banks, removing graffiti, cleaning up parks and other projects. The annual community service orientation is called “CityQuest.”
University students and staff were at TeenHOPE at 915 N. 199th St. and Food Lifeline at 1702 NE 150th St. on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. They did yard work and interior painting at the teen center and repackaged bulk food donations at Food Lifeline.
For information on the program, call CityQuest Coordinator Alisha Regan at 360-907-1873 or News and Media Relations Manager Tracy Norlen at 206-963-9779.
