Meadowdale student honored
Felicia Patton of Lynnwood, who attends Meadowdale Middle School, was recognized at the Washington Search for Young Scholars ceremony March 18 at the University of Washington. Patton and other seventh-grade recipients are test-takers who scored equal to or better than 50 percent of 2005 college-bound high school seniors taking either the SAT or ACT college entrance exams.
Teen raises $5,000 for Cancer Lifeline
Jillian Russell, a Mountlake Terrace High School senior, raised $5,000 during a fund raiser for Cancer Lifeline, a Seattle-based not-for-profit organization that helps cancer patients and cancer survivors. For her senior project, she hosted a silent auction and raffle and with catered food and beverages for more than 100 guests.
Alumni group offers scholarships
Scholarships are now available in the Edmonds School District high schools for the 2006 Edmonds School District Alumni Association (ESDAA) scholarships. Students graduating from the district’s high schools this June are eligible to apply for a scholarship worth between $500 and $1000. Some scholarships, but not all are restricted to certain fields of study. Applications are due on April 13. For an application, information or to make a donation, call 425-670-7084.
