Leave anonymous tips for safety
The Edmonds School District has implemented a new method for students, parents and community members to notify the schools, anonymously, when possible safety issues arise. On the “Safe Schools Tipline,” anyone can leave a message identifying unsafe situations including, but not limited to, the use or possession of drugs, knives guns and/or threats to injure, bully or assault others. The phone number is 425-670-7010, and people can leave messages 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The tipline is not in effect to replace open communication, but school officials realize it is sometimes difficult to come forward with information when the source is concerned about being identified. The tipline will be checked twice during each school day, with tips being passed along to school or law enforcement authorities.
