Mentors needed for HS projects

The International Baccalaureate program at Edmonds-Woodway High School is in need of as many as 60 adult mentors to assist students in narrowing the scope of their Extended Essays, a core component of the full-diploma program in IB.

After choosing a general topic, students work with a mentor who has interest, experience or skills in that field to narrow the scope of their research. The student and mentor meet one-on-one to review drafts of the essay. Students will be matched with their mentors by mid-March, with mentors and students meeting several times for, on average, one hour each time between April and May. Students will complete their essays in June.

For more information contact David Quinn at quinnd@edmonds.wednet.edu or 425-670-7311 ext. 6168 as soon as possible. A complete list of subject areas and sample topics is available at www.edmonds.wednet.edu.
