Shorewood Boosters auction

Join the Shorewood High School community for an evening and help support Shorewood student activities, clubs and scholarships. The 2005 Shorewood Boosters Annual Auction will be held at 5 p.m. March 5 at the Shoreline Center. 

The event features a full course dinner and dessert, live auction, raffle, silent auction and no-host bar. Tickets are $40 each if purchased by Jan. 31, and $50 each after Feb. 1. The event sells out quickly, so buy tickets as soon as possible. For more information, call Tris Lewis at 206-542-3523.

Kindergarten info now available

Kinderfest 2005 will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Shoreline Room at the Shoreline Center, 18560 First Ave. NE. The Shoreline School District Kinderfest provides an opportunity for parents who are enrolling their children in kindergarten for the 2005-06 school year to gather information about the various kindergarten programs and services available.

Kindergarten registration for the 2005-06 school year begins on Tuesday, Feb. 1. Parents can register their child at the school in their attendance area between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1 and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. any school day, effective Feb. 2. Kindergarten registration packets will be available in all elementary buildings beginning Jan. 24.

Management classes at SCC

Take advantage of an opportunity to learn some management skills to boost your career. A series of American Management Association courses offered by Shoreline Community College is scheduled 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 at the extension campus in Lake Forest Park.

• Successful Interviewing Techniques, Thursdays, Jan. 27 through Feb. 10;

• How to Manage Conflict in the Organization, Fridays, Jan. 28 through Feb. 11;

• Finance and Accounting for Non-Financial Managers, Fridays, Feb. 25 through March 11.

Council member shares health info

The Lake Forest Park Elementary PTA will welcome Metro King County Council member Carolyn Edmonds as its guest speaker from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 18 in the LFP Elementary Library, 18500 37th Ave. NE. Edmonds will present information from the Overweight Prevention Symposium she hosted in the fall. Members of the community are welcome to attend.
