Spaghetti feed rallies team, school
There will be a spaghetti dinner (supported by Buca Di Beppo and Gai’s Bakery) and pep rally before the Edmonds-Woodway/Shorewood football game at 6 p.m., Oct. 8 in the Great Hall at Edmonds-Woodway High School. The community is invited to this fund-raising event to benefit Edmonds-Woodway’s Senior Escapade 2005. Cost is $5 a plate ($2.50 for children 10 and younger).
Special guests will include Coach John Gradwohl and the EWHS varsity football team, the pep band and cheerleaders. Auction baskets will also be available.
Student wins scholarship
Patrick Chen, 18, of Lynnwood was one of 350 students nationwide to earn a $1,000 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation based on his academic success and community service. Chen is studying accounting at Edmonds Community College, and he plans to become a CPA and receive his master’s.
LHS parent group hosts meeting
Lynnwood High School PTSA is hosting its first general meeting of the 2004-05 school year at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 11 in the school library. Special guests are Nick Brossoit, superintendent of Edmonds School District and Marla Miller, executive director of business and operations. All parents and community members are invited to join the conversation to learn more about what is happening in the school district, the property study that is underway and LHS WASL scores.
New student open house at EdCC
Registration for winter quarter will just be underway when Edmonds Community College holds its fall open house 6:30-8:30 p.m., Nov. 18, in Triton Union Building 202, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
At the open house, potential students will be able to learn more about how to pay for college, start a bachelor’s degree or jump start a career at Edmonds Community College and register for winter quarter classes.
Holiday craft fair needs vendors
The Lynndale Elementary PTA is looking for vendors for its holiday bazaar, taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6. Tables are available to rent for $25. If interested, call 425-742-1277.
Art contest
for teens
Sno-Isle libraries are sponsoring a Teen Read Month art contest in October. Budding teen artists are invited to submit original artwork in black and white or color to any Sno-Isle library. Entry forms may be picked up at any Sno-Isle library. The top four entries will receive either a $25 gift card to an art store or a local book store. In addition, the four winning works of art will be featured on a library posters and the new teen Web site at www.sno-isle.org.
Deadline for submitting artwork is Nov. 1.
