School info. fair is coming up

The Edmonds School District’s information fair will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 8 at Meadowdale High School, 6002 168th St. SW in Lynnwood.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend to learn more about the schools and programs in the district. There will also be specifics regarding kindergarten registration, high school science curriculum materials and HIV/AIDS curriculum review. Superintendent Nick Brossoit and members of the school board will be on hand as well.

EdCC Foundation scholarship info

Get information on how to apply for Edmonds Community College Foundation scholarships at a workshop 12:30 -1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 10 in Meadowdale Hall 124 at Edmonds Community College, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.

The foundation administers as many as 40 scholarships, all of which are available to eligible current or future students of Edmonds Community College who complete an application. Applications are available beginning Jan. 3, online or on campus, for scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year.

K-5 Challenge testing scheduled

Challenge testing for the 2005-06 school year for current Edmonds School District kindergarten through fifth-grade students will be held at the student’s home school Jan. 11-25. Referral forms are available at school offices or at the reception desk in the Edmonds School District Educational Service Center, 20420 68th Ave. W in Lynnwood. Forms are due to the Highly Capable office by Jan. 10.

Kindergarten through fifth grade students attending private school or home school will be tested Saturday, Jan. 15 or 22. Call 425-670-7157 to set an appointment for your student.

The Edmonds School District Challenge Program for elementary students is a self-contained full-time program located at Terrace Park K-8 School in Mountlake Terrace for students who have been assessed and can demonstrate superior intellectual ability, advanced levels of academic achievement and/or display unusual creative ability.
