EWHS student seeks past grads
Edmonds-Woodway High School senior Alex Chaffee currently is putting together an “Alumni Hall of Fame” project to highlight past graduates from Edmonds High School, Woodway High school, and Edmonds-Woodway High school who have done something for the community or anything to bring pride to the schools. Chaffee is seeking 10-15 alumni for the project. The deadline will be Friday, May 14. MLT High School garage sale
Mountlake Terrace High School parents will have a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 15 at the school, 21801 44th Ave. W. in Mountlake Terrace. The garage sale will benefit the senior, drug and alcohol free, graduation celebrations.
Edmonds district to host discussion
Staff in the Edmonds School District will host a discussion on the topic of public education funding at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 10 in the Edmonds-Woodway High School library (7600 212th Street SW, Edmonds), and at 7 p.m. May 10 in the Board Rooms of the Educational Service Center, (20420 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood). Superintendent Wayne Robertson and Marla Miller, executive director of business and operations, will present the many pieces that make up the district budget and explain how it all fits together.
Topics to be covered include:
• Revenue: Who funds Edmonds School District?
• Expenditures: How do we use our resources?
• Reserves: What is a fund balance/reserve, and how is it created and used?
• Capital levies, Associated Student Body, bonds: What isn’t funded by the State, and what options do we have for funding other priorities?
• Budget planning, teacher negotiations, capital levy election: how does this relate to budget planning for 2004-05, employee negotiations, and the May 18th election?
• Shared-decision making, Voter Support: How do different stakeholder groups and individuals get involved in the issues?
The free event is open to district staff, parents, students and community members.

LHS students to host plant sale
Students at Lynnwood High School will host their Annual Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Friday May 7 and Saturday, May 8 at the school greenhouses, located at 3001 184th St. SW in Lynnwood. Plants for sale include robust bedding plants, shade and sun plants, vines, foliage and flowering plants. Also available are fuchsia baskets, perennials and large-sized tomato plants. Soundview to host annual arts festival
Soundview School will host its Sixth Annual Arts Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 22 at the school, located at 6515-196th St. SW, Lynnwood (2 blocks west of Highway 99 on 196th).
