Student members announced
Superintendent of the Shoreline School District Jim Welsh announced the two students who will serve as ad hoc board members for the next school year at the general Board of Directors meeting June 21. Hannah Freece, from Shorecrest High School, and Chris Altidor, from Shorewood High School will join the board beginning in September.
The Shoreline School Board voted in favor of allowing an ad hoc student board member at the June 7 general meeting. Each year, the superintendent will nominate two students who will sit on the board for two alternating quarters. Each student will attend the public meetings when not sitting on the board.
The ad hoc student representatives are liaisons between the board and the district’s students. The student representatives will participate in board discussions, but will not make motions or be a voting member of the board.
