The “Jump Start” program provides an opportunity for students who are entering school to start early, meet with teachers and support staff and begin to learn the skills that are needed to be successful in kindergarten.
The sessions meet 9-11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 2-12.
Funding to inspire student interest
Edmonds Community College was awarded $699,723 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Sprite Project, a joint effort by the college, Edmonds School District and the University of Washington-Bothell.
The goal of the project is to encourage high school students, especially young women, to pursue academic paths leading to careers in science, engineering and information technology. The project will give students a way to learn math and physics while incorporating their interests in art, music, and communication by working on animation projects, including video games.
