ESD gets national award for safety
The Everett School District has received the 2004 Corporate Award for Leadership from the International Association of Public Safety Communications Officials.
During the past year the district has installed technology that provides extra safety to students and staff. The technology includes a telephone in every classroom and a system that alerts the office in building when “911” is dialed. The new phone system also provides emergency personnel with the precise location, down to the room, of the 911 call.
Girl Scout earns scholarship award
Senior Girl Scout Margot Wielgus of Mill Creek received a $400 Award of Excellence Scholarship from the Girl Scouts Totem Council for more than 540 hours of community service.
Wielgus plans to attend Whitman College in the fall.
