EvCC to hold anti-violence summit
The fifth annual “Violence Can’t Live Here” community summit will be held at Everett Community College on Saturday, April 23, 2005. The event aims to reduce violence within the community.

Student receives scholarship
Archbishop Murphy High School student Timothy M. Burke was recently named National Merit scholar and received a $2,500 college scholarship. Burke was selected out of approximately 1.3 million high school juniors from across the United States. Award winners were evaluated by their classroom performance as well as scores from standardized tests, leadership in school and a written essay describing interests and goals.
Burke plans to attend Rice University in Texas.
Local high school receives grant
Intermec’s Education Support Program recently awarded Archbishop Murphy High School with a grant that will be used to purchase lab equipment for a new Advanced Placement Biology program.
With the grant, students will now be able to complete all the required experiments in the lab-orientated course.
