Art to see and books for sale

Edmonds Elementary school is scheduled to have an open house and art show at 7 p.m. April 29. Principal Meglathery will kick off the event with a short welcome speech at 7 p.m., after which parents and community members are invited to check out the displays. The event will highlight student work and the library book fair. The tenth annual ORCAstrated Art Show will feature students’ art projects from throughout the year, including about 350 pieces representing many styles and media. Docents interpret the art with students during the school day, and ribbons are awarded for the evening display. Adult art is also featured; viewers will get a sneak peak of what’s ahead at the Edmonds Art Show. The book fair will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Books for all ages will be on sale and proceeds go towards buying more books for the library and classrooms. Only checks will be accepted for purchases.
