Jackson senior’s art earns honors
Jackson High School senior Taryn Polich is one of 10 students in the nation to have an original piece of art selected for display in a national tour and art exhibit.
Polich won a silver award in the Scholastic Arts High School Visual Arts competition and her creation, a ceramic shoe titled “LaChassure Chic” will be part of the tour for one year and exhibited at the Corcoran Museum of Fine Arts in Washington D.C. for the following year.
ATM offers two sports camps
The Archbishop Murphy High School Athletic Department this summer is offering both football and basketball camps.
The camps are designed for students who plan to enter grades 4 through 9 in the fall. Football camp is scheduled for June 8-10 and basketball camp is scheduled for June 21-25.

‘Fiddler’ comes to ATM next month
Members of the Archbishop Murphy High School 2004 Performing Arts Department will perform Fiddler on the Roof May 8, 9, 14 and 16 at the school. Tickets go on sale April 19. Prices are $12 for adults, $10 for students/seniors and $5 for children ages 10 and under.

Annual dress for less event is set
Everett Community College will host the annual ‘Dress for Success on Less’ event from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 20 at the Jackson Center on campus.
The free event includes door prizes, personal shoppers, consultations and a fashion show. Donations are appreciated: clothing appropriate for job interviews are greatly needed as are gently used, clean clothing, new toiletries, perfumes, panty hose, Dryel Cleaning Kits and accessories.
Clothing donations can be taken to the Women’s Center on the third floor of the Parks Student Union on campus until May 17.

Cascadia to launch leadership series
Cascadia Community College will host a Leadership Breakfast Series at 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 14 in the North Creek Café on campus.
The topic of the event will be “Your corporate culture… will it catapult your company to success?” The guest speaker will be Steven Barnett, Ph.D., President of Banner Consulting International.
