New school year arrives on Sept. 2

Classes in the Edmonds School District begin Tuesday, September 2.

Registration open for EdCC child care

Registration for child care at Edmonds Community College’s Center for Families is now open.

Beginning Sept. 17, the center will offer child care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children up to age 11. Prices for child care at the Center range from $2.75-$5.50 an hour (with a two-hour minimum) for Edmonds Community College students. Rates are slightly higher for Central Washington University-Lynnwood students or college staff. Hours for babies and toddlers are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., preschoolers 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and school age 2:30-9:30 p.m. A $25 registration fee per quarter for child care includes Family Life Education Credit.

Student bus passes almost here

Student bus passes were scheduled to be mailed Aug. 25. Families should receive the passes within the week.

Get calendar, handbook on line

The Edmonds School District’s annual 2003-04 student calendar, decorated by student artwork from throughout the district, is scheduled to be delivered to families during the first week of school. The calendar includes significant dates including conference days, report card mailings, and no school dates.

Hit a hole-in-one for education

Edmonds Community College Foundation will have its annual golf tournament 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course, 20200 68th Ave. W. A barbecue dinner will follow the event. The tournament costs $125. Proceeds go towards student programs, scholarships and funding.
