Krista Swenson, a Spanish teacher at the Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center, recently was awarded a grant from the Polaroid Corporation. Students will use the cameras to learn the present progressive verb tense in Beginning Spanish classes. Students will snap pictures of people doing certain actions, and then write a description of the photo in Spanish underneath each picture. The project will end with a bulletin board display of all of the images.

Grant to help pay for child care

Edmonds Community College recently received a $19,750 grant that will help the college to ensure that low-income students have access to on-campus child care at the college’s Center for Families.
